  • 9/11 Ceremony

    The Village of Sloatsburg will hold a memorial service on Thursday, September 11, 2025. This ceremony will be held at the Sloatsburg Community Fields Pavilion commencing at 6:30pm. This is a day for reflection, prayer, and remembrance. The Village invites all residents to take part in this ceremony to remember the men and women that displayed the utmost courage and made the exteme sacrifice to help save others that fateful day. A small reception with light refreshments will follow the memorial.

  • Emergency Preparedness Training

    New York State Homeland Security and Emergency Services will be hosting a free Emergency Preparedness training course on Monday, July 28th at 6pm. With increasing severe weather events, its crucial for New Yorkers to be prepared for disasters. This training course introduces responses to natural and man-made disasters, advising participants on creating family emergency plans and gathering supplies. Each attending family will receive a preparedness kit. This event will take place at the Sloatsburg Senior Center and registration through the Sloatsburg Public Library is required.   • Updated Pool Hours

    The Sloatsburg Municipal Pool will be closing at 8pm each night. Commencing August 1st, the pool will close at 7:30pm. This is for the safety of all our swimmers as the life guards can not detect if someone is under water in the low light of dusk.

  • Mobile Office Hours

    Tuesday, July 8th, 10am-12pm at Sloatsburg Village Hall Congressman Lawler’s Staff will be available to assist with federal agency casework.

  • No Soliciting

    NOTICE: The Village of Sloatsburg requires ALL door to door solicitors to obtain a Vendor's Permit from The Village. The Village of Sloatsburg currently has 1 Vendor Permit on file. As a resident you have the right to ask any vendors that come to your door for a copy of their permit, which is to be carried with them while soliciting. You also have the right to inform Ramapo Police of what you believe to be any unpermitted soliciting. The non emergency number for Ramapo Police is 845-357-2400.

  • Family Day

    All residents of the Village of Sloatsburg are invited to our annual Family Day on Sunday, July 13th. For this one day only ALL residents can attend the Sloatsburg Municipal Pool regardless of pool membership. We hope you join us for a day of fun and entertainment as we celebrate the wonderful community we have here in Sloatsburg! DivertCity Entertainment will keep the music going all day, while our lifeguards lead pool relays and team games. Universal Parties will be providing an inflatable bouncy activity center, cotton candy, popcorn and even hot dogs! Our beloved regular Dolly the Clown is unavailable but luckily Universal Parties is filling in this year with face painting and magic show. We'll also have everyone's favorite Italian Ice the The Ice Factory to close out the day. We look forward to seeing everyone on July 13th!

  • Pool Open Weekends Only

    The Sloatsburg Municipal Pool is open weekends only for the month of June. In order to enter you must be registered and a PAID member for the 2025 season. Complete your registration and pay for your passes

  • Sloatsburg Memorial Day Program

    The program will commence at 10:00AM at the Veterans Memorial Park, adjacent to the Sloatsburg Municipal Building.  After the ceremony the parade will proceed to the World War I Monument and conclude at the Sloatsburg Cemetery. Spectators and participants are invited to the Sloatsburg Community Fields after the conclusion of the parade for refreshments provided by the Sloatsburg Fire Department. We will also be holding a small dedication ceremony for the Veteran’s Flags that have been installed around the walking track of the community fields.

  • Sterling Ave Bridge Ribbon Cutting

    This Saturday, May 17th at 5pm there will be a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for the new Sterling Ave. Bridge. An invitation was mailed to all residents in the flats that had been affected by the construction and subsequent detours. It has come to our attention that only a very small amount of those flyers were actually delivered. Mayor Fraiser and the Village Board of Trustees would like to extend this invitation to all residents of the flats and apologize for the late notice. We hope to still see many of you there to celebrate the culmination of this project. 

  • Catch Basin Clean Up

    You might notice our DPW out and about hard at work this week cleaning out catch basins throughout the village. Preserving the beauty and cleanliness of our village is only part of the reason for this work. It is also being done as part of the village's compliance with the Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) Program. The purpose of this program is to keep our water clean, and keep pollutants out of our water systems. For more information on MS4 click here

  • Pool season is coming

    The Sloatsburg Community Pool will open part time on Saturday, May 24th for pool members only. Sloatsburg Village residents can sign up for a pool membership by clicking the link below or register in person Monday-Friday 8am-4pm at Village Hall. Pool passes will be available for pick up at the front gate opening weekend.

  • Sterling Ave Bridge Culvert Replacement Update

    The Sterling Ave Bridge is now open and residents, both two legged and four legged, have already begun utilizing the new bridge. Traffic signals are still active and must be obeyed until removed.

  • Bears are coming out of hibernation

    Be BearWise from The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation provides reliable information and useful resources that help people live responsibly with black bears.

    Certified bear-resistant trash containers have passed a formal testing procedure and are proven to keep bears out. Certified containers offer the best protection.

  • Watchtower Sterling Mine Road Work

    There will be ongoing roadwork on Sterling Mine Road at the intersection of Eagle Valley Road to the David Mackenzie lot, due to necessary underground utility work. This work will continue until November 2025, weekdays from 7am-3:30pm. Traffic will be slower than normal and will likely affect travel time during the morning commute.   • Our first delivery of leaf bags has arrived

    These biodegradable bags are free to Sloatsburg Village residents for pick up at the municipal building during regular business hours. Please make sure to fill out your name, address & number of bags you are taking on the sign out sheet located on the table by the stairs.

    Pick up schedule is as follows:

    Grass Clippings: Mondays (Apr. 15-Nov. 15)

    Branches & Twigs: First & Third Monday (Apr. 1-Dec.31)

    Branches & Twigs first pick up for the season will be Monday, April 7th. Branches that do not fit in bags must be bundled and tied in 3ft. bundles.

    Grass Clippings first pick up will be Monday, April 21st.

  • Sterling Ave Bridge Culvert Replacement Announcement

    All vehicles MUST obey the temporary traffic signals placed at Colonial Ave., Pothat St. & Richard St. The lights are timed to ensure that all vehicles are cleared before allowing the next set of vehicles to go. There is NO turn on red at any temporary signal. Please wait for the green light before proceeding. Thank you for your patience. This is for everyone's safety.
